I do not believe you charge sales tax for those services, however, if you are selling software, the software would be taxed.

To make sure, I'd call the NY State tax deparment:
1-800-972-1233 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (eastern time) Monday through Friday.

I hope that helps.

If you are interested in working in management you should consider going back to school to get your MBA. There are many good 1 year MBA programs out there for careered people where you take classes at night and on weekends. They will teach you what you need to know about management. If you are already working you should stay working and try to find courses that will take you in the direction you want to go, it might take time but in the long run you will get what you want.

Take it one step at a time. I think you're trying to focus on too much right now. Try to focus on the test you have to take and registering for college and finding a way to calm yourself down so you can sleep.

If you want something that will really change your life, download the movie "The Secret" from http://www.mininova.org/tor/590786 (you'll need utorrent) and get the book the "Law of Attraction" by Esther and Jerry Hicks. These changed my life. You should probably read the book first.

You have to justify the amount needed. The best way to do this is with a business plan. Go to http://www.sba.gov/starting_business/ or http://www.bplan.com/ where you will find sample plans and instructions on how to write a business plan. Submit your business plan to banks and if the amount is justifiable, you will get the money

There are many areas you could focus on. Networking, programming, web development, business intelligence or security just to name a few. You should focus on your own area of expertise and have access to other IT pros who can fill in in the areas that are not your strong suit.

My areas of expertise are in networking, security, and Windows. If one of my customers needed to have a website developed, I know a few folks who can handle that and would bring them on board for that part of the engagement.
