SEO Tips For Your Small Business Website July 18, 2010
Posted by admin in : SEO , comments closedIf you run a small business and are in the process of establishing your online presence, you will want to keep several SEO related factors in mind. Search engine optimisation is an important part in the creation of any web content because it determines the ranking of the various pages on or related to your website. For you, the small business owner, this is especially important because you are not as large as the big corporations and probably don’t have the advertising budget that some of them do to throw in to promoting yourself both on and offline.
The best part of Internet advertising is the many free opportunities that are available to raise awareness and drive traffic to your site. Below are a few SEO tips that will help get you started.
Your website design is just as important as the business itself. If you have a physical location where products are sold or services are offered and are building a website to supplement your already existing business, your site should reflect the business you currently operate. If the business will be operated solely online, your site should represent who you are and what you offer in a way that keeps it all fresh and unique. Don’t be afraid to spend money on developing your site. If you aren’t able to build it yourself, consider finding someone who can. It will be an investment that was well worth the thought and time put into it, not to mention the money.
Site usability is another important consideration. While the site should look great, it is no good to you or anyone else if it is difficult to navigate. Placement is an important part of SEO and should not be ignored. The various elements of your site should be placed in such a way that makes them both aesthetically appealing and easy to use. If people have trouble completing a purchase they will not return to look at additional products. This is why site design and usability go hand in hand.
Site hosting is another important aspect of SEO. If you can’t afford to host your site it will not go up. The good news is the prices of hosting has come down quite a bit over the last few years so it shouldn’t be difficult to find a company to do this for you. When choosing a host, you want to select a company who will keep your site up and running as well as provide you with technical support when a problem occurs. The support you receive should be immediate. You don’t want to encounter a problem with the site on Monday and not have it resolved until Friday. This would mean active and potential customers could not access it for five days which could prove to be a monumental disaster where your business is concerned. Regarding SEO, you also would not want people to find your site through search engines only to find it unavailable when they click on the link to go there. If this happens, many users would deem it out of action and would not be likely to try again.
Creating a unique site that will sell your business is important, but SEO should not be ignored. The content is just as important as the appearance because it is the main aspect that the search engines pay attention to when ranking each page. The more smoothly the site is running, the more time you will have to pay attention to optimising the content and achieving higher rankings.
Some Easy SEO Tips to Improve Your Rankings July 7, 2010
Posted by admin in : SEO , comments closedHere are a few search engine optimization or SEO tips to improve your rankings, I have found these in just about every good SEO course I’ve seen and have benefited from implementing these tactics. I also wanted to list them here on the blog because I seem to always forget what they are or where to find it. So you will also be able to bookmark it and come back anytime you need it or forget what was what.
1) Page Title – This is probably one of the most important things you can optimize for your site. The key to remember is to use your keyword phrase that you want to rank for in your page title and keep it as close to the beginning of the title as possible. For more details go to: www.seo-prediction.com.Google only reads the first 65 characters, so make sure you don’t go over it because searches won’t be able to read your full title.
Besides using the keyword phrase that you are trying to rank that page for, you also need to make your title interesting as you need to get people to click on it.
2) Page Description – This is another way to include your main keyword phrase your trying to rank for and allows you to improve on getting the searcher to click to go to your site. You only need one or two sentences worth, under 150 characters.
Another good reason for creating your own description is that if you don’t have one, search engines will try to grab some content from your site that normally isn’t very good for attracting visitors. Also if you make changes to your site, it some times grabs old information that is no longer on your site. For can visit to: www.huge-niche-keywords.com.Duplicate Content – The main points to keep in mind is to make sure your content is at least 50% different, keep in mind that the template can be counted as duplicate content depending on how your site is structured.
Another way that duplicate content can become a big problem and more noticeable is in your title tag or description tag. For each page of your site you should have different title tags, description tags and keywords. Keywords don’t mean as much as they use to but it is still a good idea to have 5 or 10 that describe your page as some of the smaller search engines still pick them up.
4) Keyword Research & Optimization – First of all, before you can do any of the other optimization tactics you need to know what keywords you are going to be optimizing your site or a specific page on your site for. Once you know what keywords your trying to rank for, everything becomes much easier.
If your writing an article or content on your site, include your keyword phrase in the first paragraph, the last paragraph and depending on how much content you write, mix your keyword phrase in a few more times. To put more emphasis on your keyword phrase, you can use bold or italics. I don’t recommend underlining keywords because many people assume words that are underlined are links. Using header tags (H1, H2, H3) will help out as well, these tags are mostly used for titles and sub titles.

Reason #1: Long-term keywords work amazingly for articles on any niche.
You can compete on any niche, even such a high-competitive niche as internet marketing, if you use long-term keywords with low competition, but high search data.
Using this tactic you can get your site in the first page of Google within 1-2 days. I’m doing this again and again on many niches. This really works. If you get such quick results, I would recommend you to submit article on top 10 article directories which are dofollow and have high pagerank.
Reason #2: The more published articles, the higher pagerank.
The more articles you submit online that contain links to your sites, the higher page rank you will gain in a shorter time. While submitting your articles consider high pr article directories, article announcement lists, forums and blogs accepting articles.
